When you decide to put up a flag pole in your yard, it is vitally important that your flag pole placement is where there can’t be a problem with power lines.
Some communities have rules about how high a structure can be. in your yard and how close to your property line anything like a flagpole can be placed, if at all.
In a parade the American flag should be on the right. If several flags are present the U.S. flag should be in the center front, leading the parade. While parading carry the flag at a slight angle or you can carry it with one hand and rest it on your shoulder. However if you are a student your bandleader may take exception to the practice.
When another flag is flown on the same pole with the U.S. flag, the American flag is above any other flag. If a flag is to be displayed in a window the canton (field of stars) should be on the left of people stand on the street looking in.
When a flag is on a motorcade it should be attached to the antenna, although now most antennas are built into the windshield. In that case the flag can be clamped to the right front fender.
If the flag is hung across a street, the stars should be to the east on a north/south street and to the north on an east/west street.
If multiple staffs are present, keep the American flag at the center and at the highest point. As we insist on honoring the American flag, we should always show respect for the flags of other nations.
Make sure that the placement of the flag pole and flag doesn’t interrupt the flow of traffic.
