Turkey’s reversed flag colours: Facts and History of Northern Cyprus Flag
The national ensign of Northern Cyprus is similar to Turkey’s flag, only that the colours are reversed and two red stripes are added.
The current flag design was chosen as winning in a local flag competition and is flown in countries where the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has diplomatic relations (Turkey and Azerbaijan for example).
Facts and History of Northern Cyprus flag show that there have always been conflicts between Greek Cypriot side and TRNC.
Greece has complained about the provocative behavior of Northern Cyprus, mainly because they have flown the national and Turkish ensign in the Beşparmak mountains facing south (Greek side of Cyprus), and by that showing superiority or challenge towards the so-considered lower status of the Greek Cyprus side.
