Facts and History of Philippines Flag

Peace vs. War indicator: Facts and History of Philippines Flag

The manner the flag of Philippines is designed and used is unique due to the fact that it can indicate whether it is time of peace or war in the state.

The flag design consists of two blue and red stripes with a white triangle on the hoist side.

Facts and History of Philippines flag indicate further on that the design is very precise and war-like oriented: the golden sun in the middle has precisely 8 primary rays followed by 3 individual rays accompanied by 5-pointed stars at each triangle vertex.

It is very facile to find out whether it is peace or wartime on the island: if the blue stripe is located in the superior field, it means that it is peace in the state.

During the World War II and the revolution that took place 1896, the colour stripes were reversed: a red colour stripe on the superior side indicated war.
