Facts and History of Niue Flag

Unusual facts and history of Niue Flag

Being 1975 adopted by the Niue state, the current flag has a very particular and unique design consisting of the Union Flag placed in the left upper corner placed on a yellow background.

What makes the facts and history of Niue flag more intriguing are the four yellow stars designed on the Union Flag forming a diamond.

The symbolism created around it is that yellow represents the friendship between New Zeeland and the small Niue Island, while the defaced Union Flag represents the autonomy of the territory. This Pacific island is known worldwide especially for its association with New Zeeland and the specific autonomy status it has.
