Facts and History of Nigeria Flag

A whole new journey for the citizens: Captivating Facts and History of Nigeria Flag

There is not very much to say about the design of the national flag of Nigeria: being quite simple, the flag was first used as symbol of the state October 1, 1960 after declaring independence to England.

There is a true story that makes the facts and history of Nigeria flag be exciting and have a special impact on the life of people striving for liberty and freedom. The flag’s designer Akinkunmi was only a student when he felt zeal in his heart to contribute to the proclamation of independence and the celebration of national unity.

After participating at the national flag contest, his flag was chosen for the best design: a flag with three equally sized colour stripes (two green stripes having white in the centre) that symbolize the national richness of the country and the peace that stays in its centre.
