Facts and History of Nauru flag

The celebrating of independence: Facts and History of Nauru flag

Being chosen in a local flag competition, the national flag of Nauru was adopted on the country’s Independence Day (Jan. 31, 1968) and it indicates its geographical position through its design: only one degree below the Equator line represented by the golden line on the flag.

The most fascinating Facts and History of Nauru flag are that it is one of the few flags that have their country’s representation on the flag: the twelve-pointed star standing that is forming a whole through the uniting of the twelve indigenous tribes.

The colour symbolism is quite simple and easy to understand: yellow stands for Equator, blue for the Ocean and white for the phosphates that bring substantial income to the island’s inhibiters.
