Unknown origins: Facts and History of NATO flag

On a navy blue background, the white compass rose emblem is pointing out the four orientation points: North, South, East and West.

The only known facts and history of NATO flag are that it was design by a person that was at that time a member of the International Staff.

The flag’s symbolism is simple, but clear: the unity of the countries that are ready to help each other in case of war. The navy blue and the plain simple design are pointing out the practical military style that was used for creating it.
