Royal red meaning: Facts and History of Morocco Flag

However, for Morocco red does not stand for the bloodshed in the independence wars: red is the sign of royal descent from the Muhammad Prophet through Fatima. This colour was also used by the Mecca Sherifs. All the facts and history of Morocco Flag show that plain red was the country’s symbol for many centuries.

In the 20th century under the reign of Yusuf, the Seal of Solomon of green colour was added to the flag. The six pointed star used nowadays as national symbol was added as national symbol when Moroccan troops went to fight in the 1 World War.
