Facts and History of Mexico Flag

Don’t get confused about the design: Facts and History of Mexico Flag

One of the mistakes made often by the less experienced persons regarding the flags of the world is getting confused regarding the Italian and Mexican flag.

While Italy has a simple green-white-red tricolour, it is important to realize that the Mexican flag has the national coat of arms on the white stripe consisting of the national Mexican symbols related to an Aztec legend.

Myths get combined with the facts and history of Mexico flag related to the coat of arms on the middle of the white stripe. According to the legend, the eagle above the lake-island with a snake in its beak must have been the sign of the gods for the Aztecs where to find the new city.

The coat of arms has all this symbols and shows to the world the beauty of the old Aztec tradition and legends. But finally, not to forget that by the time the Mexican flag was adopted Italy didn’t have the green, white, red tricolour as national symbol.
